WHAT EDIMOTION IS ABOUT
Edimotion is the world's oldest film festival that focuses exclusively on the art of film editing. Founded in 2001, it has offered the German-speaking editing community an annual event to showcase their work, facilitate discussion, and win awards. Since 2012, Edimotion has expanded its outreach to film editors from all over the globe.

GUEST COUNTRY NORWAY
The Guest Country Evening, introduced in 2012, features a different country every year, with a reception, a film screening, and a film talk. This years guest country is Norway – who will arrive in Cologne with a delegation of 12 film editors!

INTERNATIONAL PANEL
Since 2017, the festival has expanded its program to include an international panel in English language. Panel guests have come from countries all over the globe to discuss a wide range of topics. This year's topic is Ethical Editing in the Age of AI.

INTERNATIONAL FILM EDITORS FORUM (IFEF)
In 2018 Edimotion introduced the IFEF, an intensive, five-hour networking event that uses elements of the „World Café“ concept. The main goal is to foster stronger connections among international film editors and provide them with a creative space to discuss various aspects and challenges of their professional reality.

EDIMOTION ACADEMY
Inspiration, exchange, and the communication of new learning impulses for professional filmmakers — these are the goals of the Edimotion Academy, which was founded in 2018. In order to reach more of our international visitors, two events are scheduled in English: a master class and a worshop.

FILMS ACCESSIBLE TO NON-GERMAN VISITORS
Beyond the main English language events at Edimotion, we screen a number of films that are accessible to non-German visitors – with one caveat: the film talks afterwards will be in German.
